Lingy does Styling with Crossroads

I am always browsing workwear like jackets and work dresses online. I seem to only have two extremes. Work clothes or track pants and PJs! I desperately need a black jacket and black closed toe heels but I always get distracted by colourful work heels and seem to be drawn to a lot of blue suit jackets. These are my picks for a work day. What do you think?

I am not sure if it is my having an enabler Mum or because she used to work for a global and international brand that I expect clothes to be cheap. Well most of the times it was free back then! And we would only splash out (A LOT) on shoes and handbags. Because of that I cringe if I click on sale automatically if I am browsing for clothing. For handbags and shoes, never ever .. if it was on sale, it was a bonus. There is a reason why every Asian Louis Vuitton and Chanel has a queue outside, us Chinese we love the brands.

If you know me at work and you are reading this, yes I wear Temt and Target to work. Bet you thought it was Cue. The blue studded detail top had caught my eye for some reason, but I am not sure on the sheer. Let me know if I look like mutton as lamb in this number, as you can tell from my latest Hall of shame post I have a anti-mesh stance. The military jacket is on the website for $30!! I was thinking to myself that I need a black jacket as most of mine are blue!

I went to David Jones recently and tried on the Ferragamo Carla heels. Lucky I did as I found out that I am size 6.5 not 7 as I earlier thought. Another suddenly realisation that I do not have closed toe black shoes. I just got stuck into a peep-toe thing for many years ok! So this is on my next to buy list. Please Shopbop gimme a code soon kthxbai? The Miu Miu Bow bag that Mum gave me last year is still unused. Yes yes yes.. it's expensive ok I will use it! And the cute earrings are from Alannah Hill which you might likey too. Also comes with a pink centre.

Let me know what you think and if you like the Lingy Style files! Hate it? Tell me and I'll go back to Claw pics!

Stalk my Holiday Haul: Dorothy Perkins

Ok so here's one for the fashion folks as requested. I bought 3 pieces from Dorothy Perkins in Singapore.

One was the bird necklace that D picked for me. And I bought a dress and a top. I have to declare that my Mum has the same dress, except in a smaller size. Darn her. The problem with going to a tropical hot and humid island is that you come back with all these lovely Summer items. You arrive back and become unmotivated to unpack. Dude, it's cold. I don't want to look at thin slinky dresses. Unfortunately, this dress will be put away until Summer. :(

I pretty much wore the same 3 dresses while in Singapore and this is a great score. It's loose, cool-ish and easy to wear. I am sorry that I look like an "Auntie" going to the market with that hair. It is hot, very hot and humid, I just wanted my hair off my neck. Did I say HOT?
Font and Back
Please ignore the scar on my forehead as well. When on holiday I did not bother with makeup. I do not think there is anything worse than makeup in the humidity. Also a lesson about Singaporean friends, they will point it out to you and ask what happened to your forehead. And don't take offence because they ask as they care. Just be prepared for, "what happened to your head? Did you burn yourself with a straightener?"

I also bought this top because they were giving out vouchers and I think I was $2 short of a discount and tops were 20% off. It actually has a cut out at the back, nothing too raunchy but still. I kept my Rachel Zoe jacket on, also it has been freezing in Melbourne. Look .. coming back from Singapore, this place would be absolutely freezing.

Do you like the funky sinks at our office bathroom? Hells to the yeah. The Dorothy Perkins top is sleeveless too.. Yet another Summer number.

Birdie Necklace Tweet Tweet
Here's the bird necklace on closeup and is a bird on both sides. It actually opens up as the feet is a hinge. Pickles has started grabbing it and saying tweet tweet. Tweet tweet to you too Pickles.

Pondering and selfies go hand in hand
I am sitting here posing and pondering my next post. I have the most lopsided face like evahs and my glasses obviously need adjusting or my face is screwy and unbalanced. Anyways, I'm pondering mmmm what should I blog next? Sorry, I might have to go back to the makeup. Have a stab, what lipstick am I wearing? The name starts with T and F and who else can charge $300 for 50ml of perfume in Melbourne? Yeap... our favourite designer once at Gucci and YSL. Now THAT was a fun shopping outing as I had a list of things to buy for other people.

Keep or eBay

This is one of those Keep or eBay post. I bought this because it was 20% off and I grabbed something.
I did not think this through and when I wore it. Mick said erm have you looked at yourself in the mirror? Which means what on earth is that? I think he's not used to seeing me in something like this as I usually wear quite fitted clothing. What's the verdict? Keep or eBay?

Keep or Sell?
After the I don't love Aldi review yesterday I feel like I had to redeem myself. Just sharing what I had for breakfast. Avo on toast, bacon and a random bocconcini ball. Please disregard all other supermarkets and just get to Aldi to get these balls. Everyone needs balls I'm tellin' ya!

Casual Friday Outfit Post

Bear in mind that I spent a good 2.5 years wearing maternity wear. So I do not care if you think I'm vain or whatever. This post is about me and me.. Oh wait that's what my entire blog is about.

Officially casual Friday is once a month. And the sadness if you ever forgot it was casual Friday. There used to be lots of chatter about the office on the Thursday before casual Friday. OMG it's casual day tomorrow, don't forget! Unofficially, it started to become every other Thursday, the 2nd and last Friday of the month. When there's a 5 Friday month, you get a bonus thrown in for good measure. Then a certain department that is suppose to adhere to policies decided it was EVERY Friday. We had stuck to every other as every Friday can sometimes degenerate to clubbing outfit Friday.

Jeans was always an issue for me when I was pregnant. The bloody things did not stay up and I would be constantly pulling them up every other step. I cannot tell you how much I love my old jeans. Yeap I am still wearing my old jeans, actually everything that I am wearing is pre-babies. Armani Exchange jacket, Diesel jeans and good old cheapie Valleygirl hot pink top. Love rummaging through Valleygirl.

Fashion has moved on without me

So bear in mind that I have been pregnant since 2008! Yes 2008.. with about 6/7 months in between. Therefore my normal wardrobe has been neglected. And I had been el cheapo and saving money by buying the bare essentials that will cover my preggie belly.

Now that the Pickle has been evicted and Pork Chop is indeedy a big Porky. I am ready to return to civilisation. This means, I am outdated and I need HALP.
So back in my day, True Religion jeans were it. It's probably moved on from there but girlfriend here is not spending $200 plus on jeans. The big question is, are these jeans still ok to be worn? I know nobody wears the Joeys anymore.. I shall wait about 3 years and I will be totes hot in my Joeys. Fashion always comes back. I never used to do skinny as I had big calves. Yes I did, don't argue with me. So I have something like these....

... are they still OK or should I put them in the pile of I will be totes hot one day when the fashion comes back. I don't think one can err that much with straight leg right?

Having said that I never used to do skinny leg, I chanced on Jeans West skinny leg cargo pants. Ran to two shopping malls to get a size 8. Yes you heard right, I am a size 8 - smug face. And I must say I love them! I will take pictures when I wear them, trust me to have them hanging in my Chinese laundromat + bomb that exploded in a toy store aka my dining room.

Other than being 3 years out of date in the fashion stakes. Everything is going well with the 14.5month gap between my two boys. I am baking up a storm, cooking for everyone. And .... hiring a cleaner so that I can pretend I'm a domestic goddess. I promise that I will update more often as I know some people like to relish in my suffering as a SAHM (stay at home mum).
Meanwhile every other SAHM that I know has set up some online store selling knitted stuff, painted stuff or turned to photography. I shall try to sew some baby blankies and hawk them online too.

Lots of Love,

L, Pork Chop & Pickles... + Mick & Snowy
