I was at Sexpo (yes I did promo for Xpole at Sydney Sexpo.. so glam right now!) and I was struggling to stand for the entire day in my high heels. I bought a pair of clear perspex stripper heels that had diamantes and were six inch as the other girls said they were more comfortable to stand in. I thought I was like super tall and super glam. Heck yeah my legs look like slits! When I went back to pole classes in Melbourne, I remember bringing in my stripper heels. People laughed at me.. Yeah they laughed.
Who's laughing now?? I'm seeing mega big 6 inch heels on the pavements now and there are only 2 heel heights when you are buying shoes. Flats or mega 5 inches and above. Even Ferragamo has platform pumps! BTW they are currently on sale at Shopbop!
Ferragamo goes 5 inches |
Shoes or Weapon? |
Think of the poor strippers people! I was talking to some of them about shoes. They said that they no longer want 6 inch heels and have been wearing 7.5 and above inch ones. 8 inch people.. think of their poor ankles. And I hear this style below is really popular with them now. I just have no words.
8 inch tower of terror |
Hell no.
ReplyDeleteI fall on my butt in regular heels, I wouldn't even be able to stand up in those things.
Just looking at them make my feet hurt.
My toes are crying.
DeleteI always have to wear mega heels because I'm so tiny :( They are SO painful though
ReplyDeleteOne time... my toes went numb. And I could not feel them for a night.
DeleteStory of my life....
DeleteI haven't felt my toes in about 7 years :P
DeleteLOLLLL :P sigh.. pain for beauty.
DeleteNo - not me either! Mummyhood put an end to all that - oh yeah, and spraining my ankle three years ago too! I'm just too plain scared of being too high off the ground :p
ReplyDeleteIronically I used to sprain my ankle ... wearing sport shoes. Go figure!
DeleteMy lil sis buys really high platforms and I always think "omg twisted ankle waiting to happen" which i hope NEVER happens to my baby sis!!
DeleteOMG i don't wish anyone to stack on their heels ever. I have seen some near misses on 8inch heels, she nearly flew into the gambling table at Crown. LOL
DeleteI wore platform heels to my SIL's wedding recently and couldn't believe how much pain I was in at the end of the evening! Poor hubby had to go and get me flats when we arrived home because I didn't want to put them back on to walk from the car to the house. I guess that's what I get for pretty much living in flats for the last four and a half years, since my kiddos have been here. (I do sometimes wear wedges and occasionally heels, but there are no skyscrapers in my cupboard).
ReplyDeleteYeah once I grinned and beared it and hobbled across the road. The next day my feet were like not talkign to me.
DeleteI wear big shoes at work but I wear flats to and from work.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I end up being that girl at the end of the night at weddings with no shoes on. Oh the shame!
I can't do it.. I keep thinking I'm going to fall and roll down the stairs. I also cannot climb up the stairs as it hurts my knee! Yeah i'm gonna need knee surgery soon i bet! See above stripper heels -> i think it was from dancing in many hours in them (not on king st though).
DeletePS no foxtel? Why oh why would you deprive yourself ? x
ReplyDeletePPS did you meet the hubby pole dancing? Sorry cheeky comment but I would find it hilarious if you did
ReplyDeleteLolll see above. Post baby poverty and I was paying top dollar for repeats after repeats of the same damn thing! I cut it off and I didn't miss it.
DeleteNope I was never a stripper. I just somehow know lots of people from different walks of life. And well a few ok many were/are strippers.
Ah I thought you were for some reason. SO DISAPPOINTED!
ReplyDeleteOh shush I love my foxtel but I like to watch constant reruns of Seinfeld, SATC, SVU, How I met your Mother, all the home shows on Lifestyles and IQing shows on normal show.
Here is where you can get your Mad Men fix though http://eztv.it
Soz girl! I would shout it out loud proud if I did so I'm not covering up anything. Who would pay me to look at AA cup boobs?!
DeleteDefinitely not. :P
ReplyDeleteI don't buy shoes I can't walk in well!
I have four gorgeous pairs of really high heels that I never wear for above reason. :P
Sames.. i have a lot too.. hangs head in shame.
DeleteI only buy shoes that I feel comfortable walking in.. that being said, I hate platform shoes or sky-high stilettos, I think most of them look really quite overbearing and tacky :( I prefer my shoes single-level with modest height, thanks!
ReplyDeletePlatforms are incredibly uncomfortable too. I put on my normal boots and thought omgawd how different are these!
DeleteI find super high heels with platforms don't flatter my legs at all!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletePerfect heel height to accentuate my legs are 11.5cm.
Nothing more of a turn off than girls in the corporate office "wearing" super high heels and stumbling around cos they can't handle it!!
Yeappp i hear ya about people who cannot wear them. I guess I was in that classification of cannot walk in them when I insist on wearing my Louboutins.
DeleteWEAPON! Stab someone with those!!
ReplyDeleteI'm around 175cm so anything that makes me feel as if i'm the tallest person in the room is a big no no. I bought the YSL tributes and as nice as they are, they just collect dust. I need to start practicing walking in heels though!I actually like those SF!!!
- KK
The Tributes ... I don't know.. sometimes I think they are so fug then I see them on some online store and I really want them. Those SFs are nice right? So classy but look at the toe box, it's so narrow and pointy, it's gonna be a killer.
DeleteI am anti-sky high heels! I bought some a few years ago... never again. They are so uncomfortable. I only have 3 pairs of heels (OMG) and they are all no platform/reasonable height! Don't know how other ladies do it, but more power to them for looming over me even more than they already do haha!
ReplyDeleteHAHhahah yeah i know... I always stare at women who take their heels on the pavements.
DeleteKara what size are your tributes??? I want!!!
ReplyDeleteI have worn stripperesque heels. I have stacked. Haha.
HAHAHAHHA You're already SO TALL GIRL!
DeleteI can't wear heels so 8 inches terrifies me, but even when I could I'd wear the tallest heels I could buy...and then would have to take them off 10 minutes after because I couldn't walk anymore. I don't know why I did it to myself!
ReplyDeleteGirl I don't know what's up with the 8inches. The girls love them! I don't know how they even dance with them. I would cry.
DeleteNever wore 8 inches before but hah, challenge accepted. Love to own one and show it off. ;) Got my eye on your next posts.
ReplyDeletePics please when you show it off! :)
DeleteI have 1 pair of towering heels...only 1 because I can't really walk in them. haha.
ReplyDeletePS: I'm hosting a Suigo hair pack giveaway; hope you enter: http://www.underlockandkeyblog.com/2013/05/suigo-hair-review-and-giveaway.html
Everyone seems to have only one pair!
DeleteI remember wearing some god dead awful heels to derby day and by the end of it i actually couldn't feel the tips of my toes and I was in SO much pain! In saying that I do have a tolerant for high heels but not that high!
ReplyDeleteNo way! I think they look very trashy and how the hell do you walk in them anyway? I remember seeing Japanese women wearing ultra high heels whist riding a bike!
