Outfit Hall of Shame: I am shopping the sales series

Lord how I love outfit hall of shames! I had a gem from the once again never fails to deliver outfit hall of shame Asos. But I now cannot find it. I AM SO UPSET. I am browsing sales on Matches, NAP and  everywhere else. Here are my fav outfit hall of shamessssss... let's roll.

I love you Balenciaga but WHAT?!

I love Balenciaga I really really do. So this hurts me a lot. $7,900 for this?! Hmmm buy a sort of reliable 2nd hand car or a dress like one that the 1980s vomited out. I am not sure if it is a bad fit on the model but what the heck is happening there? The bust line, the frilly lizard peplum THING and then the skirt. THE HEMLINE. I didn't think you could get worse. Then... BOOM.

Balenciaga does CUT OUT
Balenciaga does CUT OUT. Let's show a bit of that sexy back of the knee flab girls. Yeah. It is also entirely sold out. I am now convinced I can sell a bedsheet as a dress.

STRIPPAHHHH
You know I love stripper shoes.. dancing around in stripper heels is my cardio. There is a place for stripper heels. There is no place for Charlotte Olympia shoes that look like that. Whacking on the word Paris or any other European city doesn't make it better Charlotte or rather Harlot. I don't even know who would wear that. Maybe Paris Hilton or Brynne Edelsten but then even she has tried to scrub up Courtney Love style.

I dunno what event I should wear this at
Ohhhh ASOS you always deliver... A search for evening dresses will give you this. I am sure I will be wearing this to my next formal evening event. UK Size 4 is low in stock. Quick run and get yours here

Peter Alexander will be upset at this rip off of his design
Kiki Chaos had tweeted me this much earlier and we had a big laugh over this. Then BOOM searching for evening dresses, I get this again! Kiki said it was meant to be. I need to get this dress. Peter Alexander is upset that his sleepwear is copied and passed off as evening dresses.

Oh hey my dress is ripped and hanging out
I just do not know what's going on with this dress. The bag of poo colour, the neckline, the sleeves.. then your eyes scroll downwards and BOOM the bloody dress is ripped!!!

They want me to believe that this is a signature style of the designer to shred the dress out. Nice try Matches fashion, none of her other clothes have shredded at very unstrategic places rips. I am onto you Matches!

I love a good outfit hall of shame. Email me ok if you find any!!

Parcels so far this week

It's been a good parcel week so far. I realise that we are only 2 full days into the week but I am excited and cannot wait to share what the mail stork delivered.

I have been stalking my mail delivery man for this parcel. It departed LA on about the 5/6th of June and I was like c'mon.. where is my parcel?! Pop Basic released a video for the Sherwood collection and the colour of the maxi skirt just made me want it. I really liked every piece in this collection so I ran and made a purchase once it was announced. Being used to zoning into the smallest size possible, I clicked the drop down menu and selected XS without looking at the measurements. It said ... "Out of Stock"... devastated I tweeted @pop_basic and said omg you are out of stock! M quickly replied and told me that she is normally a small and needed a medium. The medium skirt measured 29 inches. I grabbed my measuring tape out and measured my size 4 Country Road work pants. Damn vanity sizing, it's 28/29 inches. I had to swallow my pride and order Medium. The good news is, their sizing is small. The bad new is the sizing is small - depending on how you look at it LOL. So I am a Medium... back to pole dancing I need to go. The best thing about Pop Basic is that you know what you are getting, it is not a subscription box. USD$68 and includes first class mail shipping to Australia and the best thing is that M is always responsive on Twitter/Email etc if you need help. I am also happy to say that Medium first me well in length and waist. I even have space for some fried chicken.

On the same day, this little beauty arrived by courier. Say hello to the first Violet Box ever. Violet Box is a new skincare/makeup subscription box. Boxes start at $22.95 for one month. This was provided to me for a review which I will dig deeper into. But does anyone see the CK? It is a full size gloss eyecolour stick. Oooh yeah...

OPI Minnie Couture Collection
This is a goodie... OPI Minnie Couture collection! As you guys know I have an extensive range of pink nail polishes. Pink.. pink pink.. Minnie Couture is pink galore as well. So I requested the crimson red called Innie Minnie Mightie Bow (right) and Minnie Style (left). I'm kind of undecided about the glitter. Tell me what you think!

So folks, what do you want a detailed post of? Let me know! BTW I put disqus in and I guarantee that I cannot please everyone! Why can't there just be one of those commentluv plugins for blogger?

Stalk my Weekend: Lorne Great Ocean Road

Great Ocean Road is one of those places that every fresh off the plane person visits. I don't know what makes a bunch of crazy Singaporeans fellow FoP (Fresh off Planes) believe that we are totes gungho and can drive up and down this road. I still remember the excitement when I saw the waves on the beach. Like ZOMG it's real waves. When Lastminute was publicising Great Ocean road sales, I had a look and finally booked something. My holiday booking is like my online shopping. I browse a lot, I add to cart and then close the window. But not this time! The boys have never been to Great Ocean Road and Mick said he doesn't even remember seeing the 12 Apostles. I cannot believe it, it's the #1 FoP destination!! So off we went, enduring hours of Are we there yet? It's taking for ages. OH I DIDN'T SEE THE HORSEEEEE! OOOH MY HEAD IS ITCHY...

ARE WE THERE YET! IT'S TAKING FOR AGESSSSSS!!!
When the kids were babies, I just could not deal with weekends away. By the time you pack half the house, you are DONE. This time.. no need to pack entire packs of nappies, the entire cot, half his wardrobe and everything. We fit everything, my large Wang, the boys' teddies PLUS a baby car seat that I was selling into the world's tiniest Asian car and still had room. Now you understand why our Stalk my weekend is always around Melbourne?

That's sunrise, believe it or not.
We stayed at the Cumberland Lorne Resort. If you read my blog, you would know that I'm a diva with accomodation. Actually I'm a wannabe diva with most things, however in a lot of cases, I don't have a platform to unleash it. Anyway, the room was nice. We booked a 1 bedroom as it has a double fold out sofa bed. Bugger that.. The fold out sofa bed is like a nightmare relic of uni days. Mental note to book 2 bedrooms next time. We had a full kitchen, spa bath and full laundry facilities. So guess who had laundry tumbling in the dryer while sitting in the spa? LOL Two thumbs up pointing to self. Oddly I did not take pictures of our room. We had ocean views peeking above the top of another building block. The building site is actually pretty old. And the lifts took longer than walking up the stairs. But it was kind of funny in a way!

Deep Fried Goodness
We did not do much in Lorne, by the time we got there, there was no way I would get back into the car to endure ARE WE THERE YET some more! So we went down the main strip for lunch. What says holiday more than fish and chips! Here's Pickles stalking some cuckatoos and yelling at them while waiting for our takeaway. Food was pretty expensive for fish and chips but it was not bad. Batter was not really crunchy but the fish was good.

After we had our grease filled food. We head to the beach for a walk. Here's my beach wear folks.. A big ass down jacket. Talk about FoP!

BEACH MUMMY.. watch out for the waves!
On the way back, we detoured to Geelong waterfront. I am sure that I am the only one with a love for carousels. I think this is a throwback to my childhood and always wanting to sit on the horses. Somehow I think I was only allowed on the daggy carriages that stayed flat. Costs for the carousel ride was $3.70 for children under 5 and adults are to supervise so we were free. FREE!

Oh my gawd HORSIES!
Ahhh.. Fishermen's Pier... back in my day (lifetime ago) when I used to be invited to the Chanel parties. Yes I was.. believe it or not. I met the owner of this restaurant and I was invited to dinner after the Chanel party to Langton's and lunch at Fishermen's Pier. I sent flowers to her at that restaurant. Sadly we lost contact, the Chanel purchases stopped and the invites never came anymore. These brands are ruthless I tell you! A quick google tells me that there were also financial troubles on her end. I hope to meet her again one day and hope her family is ok. In the meantime, we decided to get some paella from the old quirky takeaway boat as Fishermen's looked like it was closed. C'mon it's cute. $10 a plate and $7 for prawns with garlic and chilli. I'm in...

D said that he don't eat clams.. he thought mussels with clams. That's ok, more for me. For $10 you get bits of seafood through the rice. Paella had lots of the crunchy bits, rice was tasty and it was topped with 4 mussells and a prawn. First of all, I wished that there were chicken or something else. But for $10 I will deal with it. Prawns were nommy and D said it was spicy. But I think it was garlic spice more than anything.

Yummiest Food Ever!

Thankful we had a frozen lasagna when we came home. Mick assembled this on Friday and took one to our neighbour that just had a new baby. Yummy.... I make mine with a combination of pork and mince. I was really busy last week and was working in the evenings. Thank goodness Mick took over or we would have 2kgs of meat go bad in the fridge. LOL I'm such a cooking fail! All the intention and no time.

Stalk my Weekend: High Tea and Seafood

ERMAHGAWD what a week.. Another one of those working till 9pm everynight. Phew I am glad that it is over. So stalk my last weekend when it's already another weekend. But I just had to get this one out because it was a special one. Daisy hosted a girls' high tea with hashtag #sweethightea. So what does one do when I know that I am the weakest link of all the food blogger royalty? Do something you can make the night before and run and source good quality seafood for savoury sandwiches. I ordered smoked salmon, oysters and prawns from my seafood source. I will not ever share so do not ask me. I met her at Doncaster and picked it up nice and easy. Plus we managed to do an extra swimming class as well! It was suppose to be smoked salmon bagels.. but erm I did not get up in time to do a bagel run. Just don't ask ok....! Sleep was more important! And I had to change the game plan to detour to Egons Cake in Templestowe on the way to Doncaster. WINNER! I got to revisit the yummies I used to eat all the time when I worked for them and I got to pick up lovely light rye bread.

Egons Cafe, Caramel slice, Smoked salmon cream cheese capers sammich

Mental note here to NOT make caramel slice again because I had already done them for the same ladies. I am not sure why they put up with me and keep inviting me to their fancy dos. I should have just cheated and bought the goodies from Egons!

FOOD PORN STYLIN'
So that was how I presented my caramel slice above... and this is the after ... after they plated it up for me. ROFL this is why I fail at food blogging. Clockwise from top left: Daisy's Peanut Butter cupcakes, Liz made Malaysian style kueh!!! Lianne and IronChefShellie made purple carrot cake and eton mess cake respectively. And the last picture is Daisy's cupcake creation and lovely scones. In the scone bag was another superb surprise...

Da bomb dot com
This my friend is a I dream in Chocolate baking creation... the Momofuku Bagel Bomb! She has blogged about it before and I can guarantee that this is amazing so quick run and look at the recipe. There was much more food than I had pictures of. So I apologise if I just ate and ran and not mentioned your creation on this post. LOL!

I was SO FULL! But I got home to another bomb dot com meal. Mick cooked panko prawns!!! YUMMMEHHHHHH! Everyone on my Facebook thought that I made it. So for the record, Mick cooked it himself. What you need is ...

Prawns, cornflour, salt, pepper an egg dip and panko crumbs. Then fry the babies.. chow down.

D says: You can make this again anytime you like
D loved it so much he said Daddy you can make this again for me anytime! Love him... and gosh it is the best meal ever. I just love prawns so much. WHO DOESN'T?

Ok I gotta admit that we did not have oysters that night with prawns. We had the oysters on Sunday night as our snack after the boys went to bed. I had a dozen oysters staring at me. But next thing I knew, we seemed to have inhaled 7 of them without realising. How did that happen?? Again, I don't know about you. But seafood is my favourite! Bring it on!!

Stalk my Noms: Joe's Bar & Dining Hall St Kilda

Before you read on, repeat after me. Two serves of fried chicken, thank you. You got that? Let's say it again. Two serves of fried chicken, thank you. You need to get this ingrained into you like the Five cougars thanks ad.

I was so excited to finally make it to Joe's Bar! I have to say that there is not much that will make me go to St Kilda. Once upon a time, I used to love St Kilda. I knew where to snatch free parking, I had friends who also lived there and best of all I used to be 10 minutes around the corner. These days, all I can think of is the Punt Road nightmare. I become passenger from hell, yelling instructions on which lane to go to as it's faster. I had missed the invite for the winter menu tasting session, I told the folks at Joe's that I would come down one weekend after the boys and myself recovered. So I braced myself and packed the boys into the car. Mick was keen as mustard when I told him it's fried chicken, mac and cheese plus blueberry pie. I had him at fried chicken. Mmmm two serves of fried chicken, thank you.

Slow cooked Ribs, Pickled cabbage and BBQ Sauce
We were given chipotle popcorn to start the meal. Talk about a big spicy kick.. oohhh.. it was so funny because Pickles kept grabbing some more and then yelling spicy! The first dish that came out was the slow cooked ribs and we had our sides of fries as well. The ribs look pretty innocently doesn't it? The BBQ sauce is sweet at first taste and finishes on a spicy note as well. Wow.. I was starting to think that Joe's needs to put a rating scale on their food. Perhaps the hotter it is, the higher number of chipotles next to the food descriptions on the menu.

Southern Fried Chicken, Chipotle Mayo and Slaw
Say hi to my new best friend ... JFC - Southern fried chicken. Yummyyyy... moist chicken meat covered with a spicy crispy skin. I have not been to southern states of the US and had the real deal Southern fried chicken before. But I think JFC would come pretty close! I would love to find out from people who have tried both and can comment. I cannot rave about this enough and if you follow me on Twitter, you will know that I am obsessed with fried chicken. This one dish will be my motivation to drive all the way down Punt Road! Mmmm Two serves of fried chicken please.

Kat's Mac 'N' Cheese
I also have a total love affair with Mac and cheese plus this is one dish that I love making at home. Is there anything better than carbs and cheese? But Kat made it better by adding a crunchy sage and garlic crust on it! I have to say that I am very sorry to Kat but I think your mac and cheese must be totally authentic,  I found it too salty for my taste. I kept trying to eat more but I just could not finish it. It is still a must try for me because who goes to an American style diner and does not order Mac and Cheese? You will also be happy (or not) to know that it is not made using that plastic orange cheese. It's made with Cobot Vermont cheese.

If you are not already jealous of salivating, check out the blueberry pie. For $7, you can afford to get your own dessert. 4 of us shared this pie! The boys vacuumed up the pastry and ice cream. Mick dug around for the blueberry. I am not usually a blueberry fan either, but I was spooning lots of berries into my mouth! The pastry was thin and crispy as well! Oh my!

Overall I thought for St Kilda, Joe's Bar is seriously competitively priced. So do yourself a favour and skip those stale cakes on Acland street and have your dessert at Joe's as well. I went up to the bar ready to pay for my meal and I was told that it was on the house even though I missed the blogger's tasting.

Joe's Bar is family friendly and I was not the only one who took the kiddies along. When I was there, they had a few group bookings for Saturday lunch. So make sure you book a table if you are wanting to go on a weekend, tweet them (they take twookings) or call (so primitive) on 9525 3755. They are at 64-66 Acland St, St Kilda.

Stalk my Noms: BangPop Southwharf

This is one of the Stalk my Weekend spin offs from last weekend. Don't ya love spin offs?

I had an invite to the BangPop launch week just before our trip to Singapore. As we were pressed for time I declined but said I would keep in touch for when I came back. Since coming back from Singapore, I have teased by their specials menu and food pictures on Twitter. BangPop kindly offered a discount for our visit on this occasion. So let's Bang and Pop!

Everyone's getting Made in Japan. I need me some!
As per our usual routine if we are eating out at night. We usually run in at 6pm aka the Senior Citizens shift! Funny thing is, we are not the first! My waitress had told us that between 5 to 7pm is Thai Time with discounted cocktails,  mocktails and beer. Oh yeah.. happy hour(s)! Is that why we are not the earliest!

Raspberry Mule and Apple Mojito mocktails
First of all let me apologise for the darker than normal pictures. As you can see the venue is uber cool and dimly lit. The restaurant is also next to the water and the boys were really excited and wanted to look out the window. This would be amazing to visit in summer when you can sit outside along the water. Parking is also easy as there is ample parking at DFO and make sure you get a discount parking ticket before you leave.

Sexy as Interior
I strongly suggest that you take their recommendations as the portion sizes were just right for us. If you do not eat spicy food, there is still something for you. The boys had Khao Mun Kai which is like a Hainan Chicken Rice. We ordered Pad Thai, Num Tok Moo (pork neck salad) and Gaeng Daeng Phed (Duck leg curry) and a small serve of rice. This was just enough for the two of us. The pork neck salad was recommended as I was looking at salads and was about to pick Larb Gai. I am glad that I went with pork instead as it had tolerable spice - yes I am bad at spicy food - and it was very edible! It had a nice balance of sour, spice and fresh coriander. The grilled pork was cooked just right and not over done.

Grilled Pork Neck Salad
I am really glad that we ordered the Duck curry, another recommendation win! The duck was very tender and just falling off the bone. Who doesn't love a good duck leg? Seriously? Nobody! I am super sad about this dish as I could not take a decent picture of it. I need to go back for lunch.

Duck Leg Red Curry
The Pad Thai came with little dishes of condiments. Chilli flakes, fish sauce, sugar to add to the Pad Thai if you want to rebalance the flavours. I personally didn't think it needed it but D loved smelling the little dishes and I made him smell the fish sauce. Heheh .. I know that's mean but I wanted to see his wrinkled nose. Out of all the mains, I think this was my least favourite dish. I don't know if it was because we left it to the last and we were distracted while eating but I felt the noodles were slightly too dry. We had water served in very thin glasses and Pickles has a habit of biting the cup when he drinks. I didn't use to think much about this but he managed to break the glass during the meal. Mick got him to spit everything in his mouth out and I recovered the glass pieces so thankfully nothing happened! So if you have young kids, I suggest a straw for the glass. I think we have given the staff on the day a huge fright.

Pad Thai
The boys managed to stay civilised for dessert! YAY!! I ordered the Tapioca and Pandan Pudding but my order was mixed up and I received the Young Coconut Jelly instead. This was actually my second choice so I did not mind it. Desserts are small so do not get conned into sharing one, make sure you get one on your own and do not let it go.

Stalk my Weekend: Food, Food, Sleep, Food

Ok seriously I don't even know what to write in Stalk my Weekend. All I did was eat, sleep, eat and sleep. Rinse and repeat. I felt so guilty I spent most of Saturday afternoon asleep and left Mick with the boys. On Sunday we made a caramel slice.. then back to snoozing. Is there some bug going around that I had? The sleepy bug! Either that or I was recovering from my rowing outing last week!

We went to not one but two places on Saturday to eat. My reviews will be coming up shortly in separate posts. Yum yum is all that I can say. So in the meantime how about a sneak preview of where we went for you stalkers out there. LOL

OMGAWD LIKE SPICY POPCORN IS SPICY
This is Pickles eating spicy chipotle popcorn.. he insisted on having some even though he knew it was spicy. Then yells out water water, he drank his water and then proceeded to reach for more. He just loves popcorn too much!

Omg we stay cute for the camera with Daddy
Where exactly were we? Well here's a clue! Luna Park is very close to this American style diner. And seriously why is it that the boys will only stay cute for pictures when they are with Mick? If you were following me on Facebook you would have already managed to stalk us on Saturday. So get onto it.. Like mah Facebook page.

Melbourne Convention Centre

Super cool looking bar
We went to South Wharf on Saturday. So those of you who follow me on Instagram would already know where we went. Yeah I know you stalk me there as well! :) The restaurant was too cool for me, I felt like a complete dag who spent the entire afternoon asleep.. oh wait I did sleep the entire afternoon.

So really I give you hardly anything in this post. What to do to compensate you for it. Check out my one time only special. A stalk my midweek nom feature. A special mention to Operator 25 which is on Wills Street. It is off La Trobe Street between Queen and William street. How good can a pork burger be? Juicy pork pieces with this amazing yummy slaw in the soft brioche bun AND to top it off, boom the best sweet potato fries ever. I cannot eat sweet potato any other way now. Just the name of the burger is just so fancy. Suckling pig burger, yeah I would have 2 of that please.

Oh.. i'm hungry now
So this puts an end to people telling me, oh you do so much with the kids on weekends. No actually we don't! Don't forget to come back and stalk my noms!
